The Netherlands raises veal calves at scale, many of them imported from Germany, Ireland and Belgium. Herds are shrinking under nitrogen rules, and every calf must be reported to RVO I&R within 3 working days.

Veal
Calves arrive young from several countries, so the record has to start at the collection centre, not at the farm.
Calf imports
Germany is the largest source, with Ireland and Belgium behind. Origin, transport and health papers travel with each calf.
Nitrogen
Buyout schemes and rules are shrinking the herd. Fewer animals make each record, and each proof of practice, worth more.

- The Netherlands Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority, responsible for animal welfare and transport checks.
- EU 1/2005
- Unweaned calves travel 9 hours, rest 1, travel 9. Calves under 10 days may not travel more than 100 km. A reform is in negotiation; systems that log journey time, rest and feeding now will be ready either way.
- TRACES
- Health certificates for movements between member states, attached to the load.

Yes. Interfaces are built in the language of the crew. The website itself is being translated by native speakers.
Is the data hosted in the EU?
Yes. Dutch projects are hosted in the EU under the GDPR, with a data processing agreement.
