Livestock Data · Health and treatment

Every treatment, on the right animal, with its withdrawal date.

Drug, dose, route and withdrawal, recorded at the chute against the animal's EID. The record holds up for the vet, the buyer and the auditor, and it is there before anyone asks.

Recorded chute-side, with or without signal.

Scan the tag, pick the protocol, confirm the dose. The withdrawal date is set on the animal at that moment, and the animal stays flagged until it passes.

02Disease readiness

Disease events change the rules overnight.

Movement testing, herd status and import protocols arrive with little notice. The operations that cope are the ones whose records already answer the questions. Figures below are dated and move quickly.

EventWhat happenedAs of
H5N1 in dairy cattle917 US herds in 2024, 171 in 2025, 93 so far in 2026, about 1,180 in total across 19 or more states. Movement testing and herd status records are now routine paperwork.Oct 2026 · USDA APHIS
New World screwwormSouthern-border cattle imports closed in May 2025 for about 15 months; 53 US animal cases by 4 Oct 2026. Texas now asks for extra documentation and RFID on Mexican-origin cattle.4 Oct 2026 · USDA APHIS

03Who reads the record

Views for the people who decide.

01

Herd manager

Animals under withdrawal, rechecks due today, treatments by pen and by crew.

02

Veterinarian

An animal's full history at the chute to support the exam; cohort and stewardship reports by product and by group.

03

Nutritionist

Health events next to ration changes and growth, so a change can be judged against what happened.

04

Buyer or auditor

Withdrawal status and treatment history for the animals in a sale or a program, shared only on your say-so.

05

Owner

Mortality and cause by source, arrival grade and season, as numbers with sample sizes.

06

Crew

Large targets, one-hand flows, gloves on. The protocol on screen is the one your vet signed.

04 · What Mule never claims

No diagnosis. The light means look, never treat.

Mule records, ranks and reminds. It does not detect, diagnose or predict disease, and the Mule tag does not measure body temperature or vital signs. A flag on an animal is a reason to go and look. What happens next is your call and your vet's.

How the tag flags animals worth a closer look

FAQ

Questions

Does Mule diagnose disease?

No. Mule records what was observed and what was done, and with the tag in pilot it ranks animals worth a closer look. Diagnosis and treatment decisions stay with you and your veterinarian.

How is the withdrawal date set?

From the product, dose and route entered at treatment, using the label or your vet's written protocol that you load into the system. The animal is flagged until the date passes, and the flag travels with it if it is sold or loaded.

Can our vet see the records?

Yes, if you give them access. Vets get a read view of treatment history and cohort reports for the herds they serve, and nothing else. Access can be withdrawn at any time.

What happens when a new disease rule comes in?

The records that a movement test, herd status check or import protocol asks for are already on each animal: ID, origin, movements, treatments and test results. Reports are configured for the rule rather than rebuilt from paper.

Does it work at the chute with no signal?

Yes. Treatments are recorded offline, queued on the device and synced when back in range, with both the device time and the server time kept.
