Software for cattle buyers.
Mule builds purchase, cost-allocation and hauling coordination software for cattle buyers and order buyers: a mobile record built for buying at the ring, per-client cost tracking, and dispatch to move what you just bought.
What we know about cattle buyers.
An order buyer's whole day can happen standing at a sale barn ring, buying head for several different clients inside the same hour, with the tally of whose money bought which lot living in a notebook until it gets reconciled that night. Every lot bought has to be allocated to the right client, at the right cost, and then handed off to a hauler, sometimes before the buyer has even left the barn.
That combination, fast buying decisions plus immediate hauling arrangements plus after-the-fact client accounting, is a hard pattern to run on paper and a phone. A missed allocation or a hauling mix-up doesn't show up until settlement, when it's a much harder problem to untangle.
Why a cattle buyer picks Mule.
- 01A mobile purchase record built for buying at the ring, fast entry, not a desktop form nobody has time to fill out standing at the rail.
- 02Per-client cost allocation that ties every lot bought to who it was bought for, so settlement isn't a reconstruction project.
- 03Hauling and dispatch coordination to move what you just bought, without a separate phone call to a separate system.
- 04Dashboards on what moved, for whom, and at what cost, built from your own purchase and hauling records.
What cattle buyers usually need.
From cattle buyers.
Do I need signal to log a purchase standing at the ring?
No. The app is built to run offline, you log the purchase and the client allocation on the spot and it syncs once you're back in range.
Can it capture EID tags on cattle we buy?
Yes, with a paired Bluetooth reader and manual entry when a tag won't read. Since November 5, 2024, covered cattle moving interstate carry tags that USDA requires to be both visually and electronically readable, and we build the purchase record to capture both.
Our client list and past purchase history is in a spreadsheet. Can you bring that in?
Yes. We import your existing client and purchase records as part of the build so your history and client relationships come with you.
How does quoting work for a buyer's operation like mine?
From your actual business, how many clients, how you handle hauling, what you're tracking now versus what's still in a notebook. There's no set price; you describe the operation and get a real quote back.
Who owns the purchase and client data?
You do. It's your book of business, your client allocations and your purchase history. We build the system around your operation and you keep the data.
